Baron's soldier

This is a Tunnels and Trolls adventure in the Castle Calahony series.




The army wizards offer level 1 spells for the rock-bottom price of 200 Gps per spell:

This adds 50% of swords value against normal foes.

It doubles the value when fighting against darkness loving foes (bats, vampires, orcs, trolls, and so on).

Level 2 spells (400 Gps per spell)

Level 3 spells (600 Gps per spell)

Sword Smasher effect  Applies to any shield. 

Any sword with lower level magic has 50% chance of breaking. Does not increase the shields value, and the swords breaks at the end of the combat round, so theoretically the caster may be killed by the braking sword. 
No effect on other weapons than swords.

Skilled skill time or effect Doubles someones skill bonus 5 ft 2 Immediately

In addition to the special spells above, your wizards may learn one of the following combat spells from the rule book for 200 Gps per level: Whammy, Hidey Hole, Glue You, Little Feets Everyone may learn the first level spells above, but the second and higher level spells will only be taught to those who become a priest of Mares.

Your wizards may borrow gold from the warriors and pay back by casting the spells at the weapons of the warriors. Paying back is at the fixed amount of 2 Gp per power point spent. See also the example later.

All spells above can be cast in advance. The owner of the weapon can name any Word Of Power, but preferably something not said arbitrarily. Saying this Word of Power, whether intentionally or not, will release the spell and double the value of the sword. Once the Word of Power is spoken and the spell has worked, the weapon is empty. Saying the word a 2nd time has no effect.

These spells require 1 week to learn for wizards, and 2 weeks for rogues. Casting the spell costs 1 morning/afternoon/evening of 4 hours per level of the spell cast. Spellcasting may be interrupted and resumed later.
[Example: Thus a wizard may start casting a L1 Double Blade spell at second level on the evening of day 1, march the morning and afternoon of the second day, and finish the second level of the spell on the evening of the second day. The effect is that when its user cries th Word of power, the value is quadrupled. If a wizardd casts as Vorpal Blade at the same turn, the value is octupled (8 fold) of doubled for 2 combat turns.
Example: A wizard wants to cast a L1 Double Blade. This is a L1 spell cast at L1, and costs 1 evening.
Example: A wizard wants to cast the Dumb Shield at L4. This takes 4 evenings. The shield is doubled for 4 turns or octupled for 1 turn.

When you have bought your spells,  your soldiers have  a chance to buy additional equipment. If you do not want to buy extra equipment, start marching.
