This is a Tunnels and Trolls adventure in the Castle Calahony series.
The priests of Mares, god of war, are willing to cast enchantements on your weapons
You can buy:
| Name | Description | Price | Effect bought |
| Double Blade | Applies to all axes. Level 2.
The axe is quadrupled when the user cries a pre defined word of power. |
2 GPs | The axe is quadrupled when a word (you may choose it) is
spoken by the owner.
Works only once. |
| Vorpal Babe | Applies to all swords. Level 2.
The sword is quadroupled when the user cries a pre defined word of power. |
2 GPs | The sword is quadrupled when a word (you may choose it) is spoken by the owner. Works only once. |
| Light up | Sword bursts into flame.
This adds 50% of swords value against normal foes. It doubles the value when fighting against darkness loving foes (bats, vampires, orcs, trolls, and so on). |
2 Gps | When first drawn, the sword lights up for 3 combat turns Works only once. |
You may have several Double Blades / Vorpal Babes stored into your sword / axe if you have them stored under different names.
All these enchantments are a one-time only effect. (Only the first time you draw your sword or speak te word the spell works). The Light Up spell can be made into a permanent effect (in the sense that the sword will always leap into flame for 3 combat turns when drawn) for the cost of 20 Gps and 1 Strength Point (permanently subtracted from you strength!). Likewise, the double blade or vorpal babe spell can be made into a permanent spell for the cost of 20 Gps and 1 permanent strength point. There is however a limitation: the sword / axe will quadruple every time you speak the word, but only once per fight. You need to sheath / unsheath the sword, or rest the axe on the ground. (Allthough you will have to hand in your army supplied weapons when you leave the army, an exception will be made for weapons in which you put part of your own strength.)
